Life is not all it seems dear! Today while going to work I saw a shop with the inscription "Islamic materials" but I saw a bucket filled with snacks and I was pondering, is that too an Islamic item? Actually I guess not but... People can add things up to make ends meet. As I was still thinking, I got a notification from my friend "Heart to Heart" asking if it is cool to ask your present boss for a day off to attend an interview. You want to get a better job but don't want to lose the present job, is this risk worth taking? Tumbling down with several thoughts I felt I didn't have any reasonable answer so I just sent a joke "abi work don tire u?" Afterwards I found a correlation with the site I saw this morning and the question. The Manager of the Islamic shop wants to maximize profit without recourse to the fact that though the snack might be enticing, a critical christian will refuse to buy probably because it is sold in a typically muslim shop. Also, the person asking for a day off wants to get a better job but doesn't want to offend the present boss. Sometimes risks are worth taking. Evaluate the risks and be willing to stand by your decision. That's the way to live happily. I regret not taking decisions; I don't regret bad decisions.

SITUATION AND REALITY

SITUATION AND REALITY Too much belief in situational ethics takes you away from reality. When you over consider the fact of reliance on “when it happens, I will find a way” it becomes difficult to help others. When a friend comes for advice, since you are not feeling the pain of the fellow you will find it extremely hard to be able to advise the fellow. To be a good adviser you must be able to adapt your mood to that of your fellow who needs help. You don’t have to be in a situation to help others. Think about their pain, worries and you will be in a better position to relate well and be of greater help to them. Consider yourself a great help to others. CLEAN KITCHEN: SIGN OF USE

Today while I was in the kitchen doing the dishes (and this made me remember my friend who wanted to tell me she was washing plates but said “I was doing the dishes and washing plates” lol). A thought came to my mind: What is the evidence of proper use of a kitchen? By keeping the kitchen clean? By leaving it rough? I just thought to myself if there is any reason why I will want to always keep my kitchen clean apart from the fact that it is hygienic. When a visitor comes to my kitchen, what’s the impression a properly kept kitchen will make? Will the visitor assume I don’t really use the kitchen or otherwise? Too many questions for a day right? Straight to the point: The object of this blog today is to express our willingness to do the proper thing no matter what others will think about it. If by keeping my kitchen clean it creates a negative impression or even a positive impression; it doesn’t count, what counts is if I’m doing the right thing. Enjoy your day people!

CARS AND SEX

CARS AND SEX Recently while brooding over God’s word “But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.” Mar 10:6 (KJV) My mind skipped a bit to examine if non-human things have sexes too. The most fascinating I thought about were cars (automobiles). Are some cars created as male while others as female? Big question I would love to ask makers of Toyota brands or Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Honda etc if they consider some of their brands as female while others as male. In actual sense some cars when considered have feminine features and some people even say “oh that car suits a lady better” However, why did God make them “male and female”? He had a purpose in mind. I cannot categorically state that cars have sexes but the lesson to be drawn from here is that it is the Manufacturer that can authoritatively state that fact no matter what others feel. So even if people tell you that you are lady-like or a tom-boy, as long as GOD is saying something different, you are covered. Be safe… Enjoy a wonderful week ahead>>>DESIRE

POVERTY ON A WHOLE

It is a fact that though Nigeria is considered a developing country, some Nigerians are wealthier than many Americans. Considering the facts of the matter on a whole. This piece is not to undermine the fact that income distribution in Nigeria still requires some amendments in order to actualize a more fairly equitable distribution. I just want to insist that some Nigerians have better living standards than some in developed economies. Wealth also subjectively should not be assessed with money (salary or wage) as the main or sole factor. Though Nigeria is not poor, many Nigerians are poor; Though Nigeria is blessed with natural resources; we are more blessed with human resources; Though Nigeria is regarded a developing nation today; tomorrow is better. Though our politics seems unfair today; we have hope; and Nigeria will be great... Nigeria; my home; my pride I HAIL THEE
