ZOOM IN

ZOOM IN
“Focus can get the very closest, but can lose the faintest details”…Oladele Femi
Most times to get the best of quality, you don’t need to zoom in on the image, but get as close as you desire and use the normal view. This is not to suggest in any way that technology cannot defy this.
Your best view is the ordinary view…
I suggest that we consider the goal of view so as to enjoy the best of view.
If you can remember the “mirror-windowed house” then you can relate better with this post.
Enjoy your day people…DESIRE

A HOME WE BARELY THINK OF...

A HOME WE BARELY THINK OF
As an undergraduate student, I realized that most resumption times especially after session breaks, see students come in big and it is usually referred to in Yoruba parlance as “ose igberaga” which literally translates to “week of pride”. Most times some of these students have “scammed” their parents to get extra cash.
The most paradoxical observation was the disposition to those parents; like they are not even doing anything to help the child so I wrote this article titled “a home you barely think of”
Though the reason for writing this piece is to congratulate my dad on the celebration of his birthday I feel it compelling to strike the heart with a word of truth.
I see many birthday wishes from children to parents like “you are the best dad/mum in the world” and I admire them, but most times afterwards I stop to think about the implications of those words and sometimes justify that some use it as mere word of mouth.
To say the least, it is expected that we show gratitude to our biological parents for allowing them to be used to bring us to this world, more than that should be a conscious and deliberate appreciation of the good values that they have entrenched over the years evident in family life.
I urge us today to look beyond singing empty praises of our parents but live to their expectation.
Finally, our heavenly father too deserves that we live up to HIS EXPECTATION.
Happy Birthday to the Best Dad in the World….#chuckles#

VULNERABILITY TO INFORMATION

VULNERABILITY TO INFORMATION
Once I told a friend, to stop being vulnerable to information.
Adequate information is good, that’s what we provide as Accountants, but obsession to information can lead to conflicting intrapersonal interests…Oladele Femi
It is good to stay abreast with innovations, news and current trends, but when the desire for information supersedes its use, then I feel it becomes dangerous.
Information is good for use and nothing more; desire to use it appropriately.
Best wishes…DESIRE

CONSEQUENCE(S) OF DEVELOPMENTAL ADJUSTMENTS

CONSEQUENCE(S) OF DEVELOPMENTAL ADJUSTMENTS

Some months ago, my younger brother informed me about a University that raised the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) levels for degrees to be awarded.

Walking in my mind, thoughts about the facts that it is an evidence of developmental adjustment, I feel to some extent it is ethically justifiable.

However, the main point of discourse today is the effect the decision will have on graduates. Would the adjustment affect graduates of that University?

Most conventional tertiary institutions (especially Universities) in Nigeria use a 5-point CGPA with 4.5 as the commencement bar for First class degree.

If the bar is readjusted to 4.8, does it mean that graduates with 4.7 will be referred to as having degrees lower than First class?

The responses seem obvious anyway, but the main point I am stressing today is the fact that a developmental readjustment is only relevant when it is alive.

In Law, I am aware that if an offence escapes a declaration, then it is free*

Strive as much as possible to meet the mark when it is still within your reach rather than expect a developmental adjustment.

It is expedient to express some emotions here.
I want to wish all my friends the best.
Why?

Today I feel like wishing all who have access to this blog the best GOD has in store.

AS WITH LITTLE SINGLE DROPS

AS WITH LITTLE SINGLE DROPS
I have heard severally how little drops can make an ocean. Huh?
Actually that’s true with time.
Also, “little drops can drain to empty”…Oladele Femi
It is nice to always look at the brighter side of life, it is also pertinent to sometimes consider the dark(er) perspective to give us a clue to what we miss or stand to miss when we undermine the characteristic features of failure on our paths.
It is therefore on this note that I suggest that we guide our containers to obviate leakages (even in drops).
If you are a regular here, you should have read the post about “the bottle and the cork”. This is a continuum.
Wonderful week, is my wish for you…DESIRE

GROWING UP

GROWING UP
I agree with the words of a friend I had a brief chat with over the weekend. She sighed “Hmm! Growing up is not easy”.
Given the facts that there are many decisions to make and take; and as the Bible puts it, “a cloud of witness” watching, some to cheer and some to jeer, it feels more like a burden to the heart to survive this terrestrial plain.
Every young man/woman is faced with this and needs to wade through to SUCCESS to be reckoned with.
I can’t but agree more, but there is a way out of this quagmire and the only way I am familiar with is DEPENDENCE ON GOD.
GOD is the creator, author and beginning; HE knows all things and can help in these distressing moments. All we need to do is rely SOLELY on HIM and ask for HELP.
Best wishes people…DESIRE
