The real age of a baby is not the age we claim, it should be + 9months…Oladele Femi

It is instructive to state however that not all babies spend the average nine (9) months

I had a visitor (a couple) and they came with their daughter. She was full of life and I asked her mum how old the baby is and her response raised a major concern in my mind which is the purpose of today’s discuss.

Her mum said she was eight (8) months old. I looked intently at the baby and said to myself “this baby is seventeen months old”

I started to try to justify the facts of the matter. When did my birth occur; at conception or at delivery? I am not sure if medical practitioners have had to justify the facts of the matter, but I will like to suggest that a baby is born on the day of conception rather than delivery. How about still birth? I would suggest that the baby was alive for the number of months he/she spent in the mother’s womb.

All those are stories anyway, the main point of discuss is the reasoning or concept of circumstantial preference.

Circumstances most times initiate a consciousness in our minds that drives our major preferences. Just as we decide to accrue birth dates to the day of delivery just because we assume that’s the day of life, so also most times we attribute preferences to circumstances in our lives based on what we assume are realities.

I think we need a major reassessment or readjustment to enable our circumstantial preferences to align with realities rather than assumed realities.

During my Senior Secondary School class Two (SSS II) a very hilarious experience is the basis of my focal point of discussion today.
Digress here a little
Some people have questioned my blog as one way, and I tend to wonder why I still call it a discussion. The answer is simple; I am in a conversational mode with you as I type. I guess I have done justice to that.

A friend needed to update his note in two subjects, because he was absent the previous day and he asked:
"Femi please lend me your GONAOMICS note books"
I paused a bit to comprehend what he meant since I knew he wanted to request for Government and Economics note books.
The point here is the ability of man to combine in a bid to rush things up. I guess he wanted to make it fast and instead of stating the books separately, he merged them:
GON: Government;
A: And; and
OMICS: Economics
Though our minds might be willing to go through the short path, we must be sure to examine the impact.

CONTENT AND INTENT

I have in many situations emulated the attitudes, dispositions, reactions and words of people I consider (highly esteemed). However in recent times, I have come to the realization that there is a wide difference between content and intent
Hitherto the content was what I adjusted my life to, now I try to assess the intent so as to be true and fair in my disposition.
A very popular example is the idea of using words used by highly revered men without trying to understand why they use those words and how too.
People, before we jump unto copying people (no matter how highly placed they are in our hearts,) we should evaluate the intent extensively.

NON AND NULL

How sympathetic to realize that a degree you have worked so hard to badge is labeled unacceptable in the industry you presented it to! Just imagine the pain, sorrow, tears and all...what exact amount of anguish can explain your situation?
When people stress knowledge than certificate, I tend to imagine and relate with the scenario of the evidence of a crime to crime.
When caught in a situation like this, what is expected is not to resign to regret. Pick it up and fight the fight; and sure you will succeed. The fight is not a fist fight but a conscious effort to prove that you are capable. I'd suggest a private affair.

Anticipation

I have been caught severally thinking about the severity of complex choices in life, assuming too much and tending to overestimate the results of my decisions.
Therefore I realized that:

Growing in knowledge and understanding is the key to overcoming presumptions. It is necessary to estimate but it should not lead to anxiety in any way.

I have been quite busy lately facing the challenge of academic progression; this is not an exact excuse for my inability to upload my write ups here though.
To the point of the day:
Non Slavery Bondage gives an impression that is quite indisputably relevant when the ideas of freedom is contestable.
Following the current ills in our present dispensation and the optimism of a better future we realize that we have submitted our lives to a façade of fate which is to say the least an abstraction from reality.
We are not slaves, yet we are bonded.
What a world full of sheer sundry vestiges.

In the news and in reality, most people that are proclaimed successful are those who at first were deemed incapable.
It is fair to conclude therefore that “success could be invariably linked to challenge”.
When people throw you away, because they feel you are invaluable to their course of action, but you remain undaunted, the challenge builds your strength and you succeed.
Sometimes you might not even be able to handle the task which you believe you can handle, but persistence and resilience will make you an achiever.
Always remember that challenge spurs the greatness in you.

Wading through a line of ants, people get so careful. Most times when people disrupt their line and some ants get stuck to the intruder’s body, the intruder suffers major or minor bites contingent upon response. My question now is if the response by the ant(s) is a response in anger.
Do ants get angry and is "bite" their way of response?

ANTICS, MANTIC AND TACTICS

ANTICS, MANTIC AND TACTICS (AMT)

AMT sounds more like every acronym in vogue, but here the use is strangely and loosely obsequious.
Antics can be used to describe pranks most times silly;
Mantic describes the ability to prophesy; and
Tactics loosely refer to diplomacy and strategy.
These three terms form a corpus of intelligent grammatical language/use. However, this piece is not to stress their grammatical or rhythmical outlook but to enrich us through careful demonstration of their effects on our decisions.
When faced with dicey situations, every individual is expected to act with total disregard for the minor variables and expend most thoughts on the major variables, but we tend to forget that those minor variables if duly provided for can be a source for undermining the hitherto assumed major variables and likely solutions may emerge.
Whatever our line of action: antics or mantic or tactics, we should be aware that we do not act in isolation of assumed minor decisions.

UNENDING PRAISE

When I recall the hymn that reads in part
"It is well with my soul" I tend to wonder. Staring most times at the men (feeble men) who wrote those inspirational pieces as though I could see them and explain away the reasons for their overwhelming joy.
People have gone through a lot and even in those darkest hours they sang to praise GOD.
I think about the many struggles in my heart and the heartaches but I still find a place in GOD; a place of solace to say THANK YOU JESUS.
HE deserves my unending praise.

TRUTH

"Truth when it makes no difference, makes no difference"...OLADELE Femi
When faced with situations that are likely to make you lie but you do otherwise, then you have attained a "truth-stance."
However, when you relate something that is obvious, then we can't really say it is true.
This implies that opportunity to lie gives "truth" its true definition.
My desire is to speak the truth always, you should consider it too.
When you decide to speak the truth, then you will have many opportunities to lie (with the resultant effect of cover-up,) don't give in.

Responsibility

"I ain't scared of responsibility, my irresponsibility scares me"...Oladele Femi
Evaluating every second of my life brought me to this realization.
And now I figured it is best to consider your ability to respond to responsibility a goal rather than a gift. I mean you should aspire to fine tune your response to responsibilities.
At no point should you be scared to take on a challenge, but please reconsider when you realize that your ability to deliver is shaky. This ability however is not the outcome of a heavy head analysis, but an evaluation of your strength (intrinsic and extrinsic.)
Don't rush into the conclusion that you will be unable to function well, probably because success rate in that field is zero, take on the challenge.
This paradox is to spur your heart to realize that you should acknowledge every responsibility as an opportunity to bring out of you a part of you that you hither to didn't know or to harness other skills inherent in people close to you.
Responsibility knocks everyday.

TRUST

In dealing with people I have come to realize that my definition of trust is inadequate.

So I have two sides to trust

1.      I have never seen him/her do this; or

2.      He/she will never do this?

In dealing with people, what’s your definition of trust? It is quite advisable to qualify your trust for people.

In your mind, you should know when you trust someone by saying “oh I have always/never seen him/her do it so I guess he/she won’t or will as the case may be. Or I am confident he/she will/won’t do it.

I know you might say the second scenario best describes “trust” but if you are a frequent reader here you will recall the post titled “who is really a thief?” and be further enthralled.

Don’t get caught in the web of “trust”

MOVING HIGHER

An interplay between acceptance and workability is vaguely unrealistic...Oladele Femi
Getting into an Information Technology (IT) debate with a friend about its workability in some organizational units created a bit of a heat when he chose to settle for the fold-my-hand-and-look (FMHAL) syndrome.
Thinking about this afterwards made to look to issues that we now accept with retrospect. I discovered that most things that we now accept are things that people stood for when others felt it will not work.
If we continue to insist on FMHAL, then we rob ourselves of development in its essence.
Even the manual systems widely accepted today were developed by people of strong will who felt things could be better and that's the spirit that prevails.
Resilience and insistence of the workability of your ideas does not amount to coercion; it is entirely different from trying to force your opinion on others.
Please strive to drop the FMHAL syndrome wherever it applies in your life and you will enjoy an enriched life. 

EXCHANGE RATIO

EXCHANGE RATIO ANALYSIS "Examination of the superlative languor formed as a result of the disparate interplay between our outward experiences and our inner desires"...Oladele Femi Though this sounds more like economics or financial management terminology, I have coined it to context to explain the interplay between our external experiences and our internal desires. My placement or arrangement (placing external before internal) is deliberate though some may argue that it is from "within" that we have our "without". There could be (and most times is) a disparate interplay not suggested only by prevailing circumstances but by other factors best known to us. How do we handle it? The exchange ratio comes to explain that if we allow ourselves to languish in a state of ennui, then we deprive ourselves of the most valuable success we could explore if we introspectively reevaluate our desires in tandem with our experiences. There should not be any time for steady regret my friend...DESIRE loves to see you excel

UNFLINCHING LOVE OF THE DONKEY

UNFLINCHING LOVE OF THE DONKEY This morning I was confronted with the title of love as a maverick; led to study the love story from a different point of view. I’d like to tell and/or remind you of a story between a man and his donkey. A master was angry with his servant for going against his direct orders and sent an assassin to kill him. However, the Donkey loved her rider (who is the servant referred to above) so much that she vied off the road to preserve his life twice and saved him from destruction the third time by laying down her life. The original story reads “…and she lay down…” giving her own life instead of her rider’s. After the mission to preserve her rider the following conversation ensued: DONKEY: “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?” RIDER: “because you have mocked me, I would there were a sword in my hand, for now I had killed you” Referring to the escape the donkey undertook to keep his life by bruising his feet against a wall. DONKEY: “am I not your Donkey, on which you have ridden all your life long to this day? Was I ever wont to do so to you? RIDER: “No” Hmmm!!! I am more than dumbfounded. What would I have done as the Donkey with my ability to speak? I would probably have spoken out to him in devastation. However, the Donkey still loved her rider when she wasn’t appreciated. What manner of love is this! I charge us today as we prepare for another week ahead to demonstrate this “kind” of love to others…DESIRE If you want to read the full story; find a Bible and open to the Book of Numbers, chapter 22.

KNOWLEDGE ACQUISITION

"It is good to know, better to be taught, and best to be inspired"...Oladele Femi Walking down to the office today was somewhat different from other days after highlighting from the bike that got me to the gate. As I trekked, I just realize that I was subconsciously evaluating times when I knew things on my own (so to speak); times when I was taught; and times when I was inspired and the feelings I got during those times: real fulfillment comes when you are inspired. PLANS AND CALENDARS Today as I wrote plans for September, I had to use my Calendar app. After using the app, I just realized how easy it was for me to scroll through months and years and wish I had same ability to just scroll through in reality. #sounds weird# I have come to realize that just as fast and easy as it was for me to go through months and days on the calendar, though the time lag of 24 hours a day is not short, in the end it is short. Just like the realization I got during graduation: “I have spent *** years in school! Are you kidding me?” If you don’t start working hard now, it will dawn on you that you have really wasted time and by then you can’t turn back the hand of time As easy as it is to look over years to come with your calendar; make it worthwhile through hard work to make those months and years to come productive. Have a fulfilling week ahead people… We love to see you excel…DESIRE

EXCEL “Excellence is a measure in respect”…Oladele Femi I cannot categorically (trying to be sarcastic) infer (though I can ostensibly argue the fact) that I excel in another man’s field or expertise. The Scriptures read “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” Pro 22:29 (KJV) Point of emphasis “in his business” not the business of another or in the business. This basic truth is crucial to understanding what make us truly excellent. Then comes the big question: “what is my business?” That’s a point to identify yourself anyway but keep in mind (reminds me of Professor Oladele) that excellence is in respect not with regards to… It’s in respect of your work. Not with regards to your work. It is not about what you do, but what you should do. Please excel, DESIRE loves to see you excel… Great week ahead people #ppgg# cre tk

However, in practice these models have been used to shape Governments' and business decisions. IN building ivory towers in our day-to-day activities, please don't extemporize. Many years of research have gone into those models. If you want your towers to remain, you have to build diligently...DESIRE

HOT BATH

This morning I had a very hot bath. Though I woke very early and cold; that was not enough reason. But as it turned out, I boiled too much water than I needed and didn't want to waste the hot water. So I succumbed to having to bath with very hot water. My point: though I had the choice not to use it. The major point is that as I had my bath I didn't want to leave the bathroom, cos it was pretty cold outside and I was at some points through the bath enjoying the rather very hot water. Then thoughts came pouring as I pondered on the lyrics of a song sent to me by a friend #ppgg# (Holding On, by Jamie Grace). So I thought, though at first I didn't want to use the rather hot water, the bath taught me to hold on in hard times and later enjoyed it (even didn't want to leave). It will pass was the consolation I got from the song too. So my brother, my sister just hold on; that situation will make you stronger "what doesn't kill you, will make you stronger"

IMPROVISE (MOVING AHEAD OR MOVING FORWARD) This picture vividly expresses how Nigerians can take on improvising. Though it is quite illogical to use the bottle of water to quench a raging fire, to the Federal Road Safety Corps on the road side, it will form a charade. Improvise but apply wisdom. Don’t try to move ahead with your improvising; rather move forward. Your improvising should bring about a solution to an impending problem not just a fake to get by with. You always make your way by deceit but what profit will that be to others, however if you create a perspective that changes things that others can confidently apply, then you are moving forward. You can take the right steps and make things happen the right way. Enjoy your new week…DESIRE
